Cheaper yes but only available if you purchase an engine from them. Which makes sense since it involves notching crank and gears.

Not sure about rest of the assembly but I've seen the splines. It doesn't look pretty lol
I don't think we are going to get to see the photos or anything related to this failure unfortunately. The octagon is where threads go to die lol. I saw Ghassans post on facebook about his new solution. Reminded me of the TPG solution that was tried a year or so ago. I ran across another post on another forum where an f82 owner claims his m4 s55 motor slipped with the vtt solution and the capture.

Hopefully a VTT rep or Ghassan are simply taking their time to put together a statement.

Would be pretty unprofessional if they kept quiet about this little anomaly and we never get a deeper look.
Don't hold your breath there and may as well consider it dead and swept under the rug. VTT made about $90k on this latest money grab (based on the 150 units sold claim), so making some statement saying it may not work would not be in their best interest. Can only imagine the amount of customers already begging to return them for anything they can get...

Here was another thread in the main forum that actually had some good discussions about this product:

It did take a LOT of work to get, but EVENTUALLY VTT did come up with this picture about the etching.

It honestly looked damn good, but it is from VTT so who knows if it is repeatable by any 3rd party. This said it would be extremely interesting to see if this etching pattern is in fact what anyone else has experienced out there?

Thanks,
Rob

Ghassan's new solution appears to have helped him achieve the WR.

Would be great if VTT could come back and explain why their hub failed and what they intend to change, but complete radio silence speaks volumes about the situation.

Pretty hilarious how many defenders & shills there were before the shit hit the fan :tearsofjoy:

It's always hilarious to put this stuff out there in the past, for when the future arrives. The quick arrival of Spline Lock 2.0...

Jesus, what a clusterfuck from the start. They'll warranty the 2.0 solution if you have it installed by them, but if it fails and your motor bends valves or worse, they won't cover any engine damage. Just the labor and parts for a new hub and CBC.

I can't :tearsofjoy:

The sheer amount of marketing manipulation and deception, all wrapped up into one single product campaign, is borderline mind boggling...

Nothing really new for this vendor, they can truly make the common consumer believe a spade is a diamond at will. It really does take one willing to look a bit deeper WITH some tech understanding in order to actually see through it.

Kudos to the sweeping under the rug and a marketing job well done (once again) to VTT and PR team!

A spline is simply not the way to go.
It's a quick and easy fix but it's not the right one.
Take the time and effort to get a keyed crank hub installed and you'll never need to be concerned.

The excuses about the reason for the 2.0 version are embarrassing.

I have my own issues with VTT as well over crank hub fix that they offered in the last years. V1 version. Brought it up to them and they don’t offer warranty. The case of grabbing money from clients and then closing down the business for sure.

Negative sir. We offered to exchange, at no cost, the V1 for a V2 if you'd like to upgrade. We do not cover labor.

As for closing down, we've been in business for over 40 years, but thanks for the concern.
